Scone Horse Festival

Great Weekend.

We travelled up to see the members night exhibition of the Photography Competition and the other art on show. I was very impressed with the quality of photography, and there were lots and lots of great shots.

The the morning we travelled to see the parade and for the Scone Horse Festival. It was sort of old time good time stuff, where there were marching bands and horses, cars and trucks with a pile of balloons a d the general feeling of everyone loves a parade. The boots were on and the hats were out, along with a mile of country smile. Not that Scone is back blocks, it is quite contemporary in many ways, and more than ready to frock it up for the Arts and Crafts, however it is a primary producing area, grapes, horses, cattle, sheep, etc, and having some real concerns about some proposals from the mining interests that want to move in.

After the Parade it was down to the Grammar School for the Fete, we skipped on the antiques show and the rodeo. A great show scone and good to see how back to back a town like Scone can make it work really well. Well done Scone, we had a great weekend.

PS: Everybody loves a parade!
